Gentherm Launches R&D Investment in Hungary

American thermoelectric technology specialist Gentherm is expanding its operation in Hungary with a new research and development program.
Supported by the HIPA Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, the EUR 15.7 million investment will focus on next-generation automotive cabin comfort technologies and temperature management solutions for the medical industry.
The project is expected to create 20 new R&D positions at Gentherm’s Hungarian site in Pilisszentiván, near Budapest, and will support the submission of European or international patent applications with Hungarian priority.
Gentherm is a global leader in heated steering wheels and seat technologies, supplying major automotive brands worldwide. In medical technology, the company is known for developing equipment to maintain optimal body temperature.
Gentherm is also a leader in innovation with over 400 patents and employs more than 14,000 people across 13 countries, including 350 in Hungary. The Pilisszentiván site serves as a regional center for product development, finance, and logistics.
