Hungarian-Serbian Investment Launched in the Southern Great Plain Region

2025. 10. 10.

A new construction industry plant powered by solar panels and heat pump systems is being established in the southern Hungarian town of Dunavecse through a joint venture between a Hungarian and a Serbian company.

The EUR 24 million project is launched by MZ Precast Kft., a joint venture of Merkbau Zrt. from Kiskunhalas and KMZ Contractor d.o.o from Belgrade.

The investment aims to create a production capacity covering the full range of precast reinforced concrete structures required for industrial and logistics facilities. Implemented with the support of HIPA, the investment will create 65 new jobs.

On an area of nearly 15,000 square meters, the facility will include a main production hall, a warehouse, a concrete mixing unit and office space. A key principle of the project’s design is the extensive use of renewable energy sources. Alongside the factory, a 499 kW solar power system will be installed, complemented by an industrial-scale 1,300 kW battery storage system and a 150 kW heat pump.

The investment also covers full technological installation, including bridge cranes, casting moulds, and concrete mixers. The plant, equipped with a state-of-the-art production management system, will have an annual output of around 25,000 cubic meters – approximately 62,500 tons – of concrete products, with the possibility of doubling its capacity in the future.

HIPA was established in 2014 as a national investment promotion organisation, governed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In addition to facilitating foreign direct investment (FDI), supporting the development of domestic enterprises is also among its key priorities. Between 2014 and the first half of 2025, HIPA assisted 1,119 Hungarian-owned investment projects with a combined value of approximately EUR 7 billion.
