Körber Hungária on a Long-Term Growth Path

2026. 01. 28.

Körber Hungária Kft., a German-owned subsidiary, is expanding its BSC in Pécs, which has so far provided IT, engineering, financial, and management support to multiple business units of the company. Alongside the newly announced SSC investment, two capacity expansion projects have been completed at the company’s tobacco pre-processing machine manufacturing and pharmaceutical packaging machine production facilities. Valued at EUR 40.8 million, these projects will create 150 new jobs in Pécs.

Körber Hungária is the second-largest site of the international Körber Group worldwide. Since 1994, the Hungarian subsidiary has been engaged in custom machinery production, serving the food and tobacco manufacturing industries.

At its Pécs site, which employs more than 1,100 people, Körber has completed capacity expansion projects related to both its pharmaceutical packaging and inspection machinery, and its tobacco pre-processing machine production unit. As part of the two projects, the company expanded its machinery fleet to increase efficiency, and production areas were enlarged alongside supporting areas and office spaces.

In addition to the handover of production support projects, Körber announced a new investment at its Pécs site. The project involves the expansion of its regional SSC, as a key element in the company’s long-term growth and value creation strategy. Across the three investments, a total of 150 new jobs will be created, of which 100 will require high-level qualifications in IT, engineering, procurement, or finance.

In August 2025, HIPA filmed a short industrial digitalization-focused videos at the Körber Hungária plant in Pécs, showcasing solutions implemented at the company — such as the automated warehouse, digital twin, and a point-cloud-based scanned production area — for domestic suppliers. The video is available on HIPA’s YouTube channel.
