Agrosprint Zrt. strengthens domestic production capacity through a new investment

2026. 02. 02.

Agrosprint Zrt., a 100% Hungarian-owned company specializing in the quick-freezing of vegetables and fruits, is implementing a capacity expansion investment in Karcag.

Agrosprint is one of Central Europe's leading producers and suppliers of frozen fruit and vegetables, covering the entire product life cycle from crop production through packaging to logistics. The company works with 323 producers who produce 91,000 tons of raw materials on a total of 6,400 hectares of farmland, and exports its products to 35 countries.

The EUR 21.6 million investment aims to expand capacity, digitization, and automation to improve efficiency and customer service quality while maintaining current employment levels. The developments will be implemented at the company's two sites in Karcag and Nyírlugos.

At the Karcag plant, a new deep-freeze storage facility will be constructed, cold-side technologies will be automated, and the social facilities will be further developed. In the first phase of the investment, a fully automated packaging plant with a floor space of nearly 2,600 m² has been built, which, connected to the processing plant, is capable of packaging approximately 40,000 tons of frozen finished products per year, serving both the Hungarian market and export markets.

A comprehensive product development center is planned to be established in Nyírlugos. At the same time, the buildings required for the production of quick-frozen sour cherries will be constructed, and the necessary machinery will be procured.  As part of the project, the site infrastructure will be developed, a boiler system will be installed, and the existing buildings will be optimized.

Between 2014 and 2025, with the support of HIPA, a total of 295 positive decisions were made on projects related to the food industry, representing a total volume of approximately EUR 4.2 billion. More than 9,500 jobs will be created thanks to priority investments, and around 50,000 jobs have been preserved with the help of projects involved in the VNT and Gyármentő programs.
