Hungary is further strengthening its position in the automotive industry as the Japanese Alpine announced a new investment worth nearly EUR 55 million at its Biatorbágy site, creating 100 new jobs, contributing to the long-term growth of the Hungarian economy, and promoting industrial innovation.
Alpine is an electronics company with a history of almost 80 years, employing around 30,000 people worldwide. It manufactures and sells semiconductors, sensors, Wi-Fi devices, sensor modules, and other electronics products from its production sites in Europe, the US, and Southeast Asia. There was notable competition within the group for this investment, but Hungary emerged as the winner.
The company's presence in Hungary has been growing steadily since 1998. The EUR 55 million development announced today will increase the company's capacity for manufacturing high-tech automotive electronics components while also implementing energy upgrades for sustainability.
The investment will focus on cutting-edge vehicle electronics technologies, which are inevitable for the digitalization of the automotive industry. Keeping the green transition in mind, Alpine's Biatorbágy plant will also install a solar farm and heat pumps, reducing the plant's energy dependency.
