2020. 06. 30.

Sensirion, the world's leading manufacturer of digital micro sensors and -systems, is establishing its first European production site outside the mainland in Hungary, namely in Debrecen. The Swiss company that manufactures various sensors will create 100 new jobs in the "civis city" by 2025 with an investment of 4 million euros.

Founded in 1998, Sensirion manufactures a variety of sensors, including temperature sensors, flow detection sensors for gas and liquid, but also manufactures sensors for the medical and the automotive industry, as well as for consumer products. The Swiss-based company has a worldwide presence and interests in the United States, China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan, among others, employing approximately 800 people.
Based on the company's feedback, the investment is in the right place, as Debrecen is an excellent location for emerging companies. Prospective employees must also be ready for development, as the company spends almost a quarter of its revenues on research and development.
At the same time, Sensirion is not only relying on the plant's production capacities, but also on the University of Debrecen and local vocational training; and the cooperation can be mutually beneficial.
